Our Story
In November 2008, Jaime Simpson was in search of a gait trainer for her daughter Jai.  Until then, Jai had been utilizing a traditional walker.  However, after beginning Pre-K Special Education, Jai's progress was more positively affected by a gait trainer instead of a traditional walker.

After researching gait trainers and contacting their insurance company, Jaime was informed that gait trainers were not covered by insurance.  The gait trainer needed was over $1,800 retail with all the necessary attachments to help her daughter walk.  She was then on a mission to find a used one.  She "googled" used durable medical equipment for children.  After all, all children outgrow their durable medical equipment.  She knew there had to be used equipment available somewhere.

With little luck, Jaime then turned to an auction website.  There, she found exactly what she needed.  She placed a bid, won and then impatiently awaited the "lightly used" gait trainer.

During the process, Jaime realized that many families fall through the cracks when it comes to durable medical equipment and sensory items for special needs children.  She and her husband earned too much to receive assistance for their three-year-old yet not enough to write a check for $1,800 with ease.  She questioned other families like hers.  What would become of children who could not get the equipment they desperately needed?  What would become of families who relied on short term loans and high-interest credit cards to purchase the necessary items for special needs kids.

She then came up with the idea to have a website for free listings of durable medical supplies.  She contacted close friend Amy Foster, Pediatric Physical Therapist for an early childhood program, for input, advice and assistance.  Amy took the idea one step further.  To not only list items for free but make all those listed items free.  To create a website so that parents and guardians could continually exchange their children's equipment as they find "new" equipment that their children need.
