Ever wanted to join a cause but didn't know which one to choose?  Ever wanted to give back but didn't know where to begin?

According to the United States Census Bureau, in 2007, the percentage and number of children under 18 years old without health insurance were 11.0 percent and 8.1 million (compared to 11.7 percent and 8.7 million in 2006). 

According to WikiAnwers.com, there are approximately 150,000 special needs children in the United States.  (If the United States Census Bureau is correct, approximately 16,500 of these disabled children do not have health insurance.)

Even families with health insurance cannot always afford the equipment necessary for their special needs children.  The cost alone is enough to overwhelm an already-overwhelmed family.  In fact, the divorce rate for couples with special needs children is 80 percent (compared to the national divorce rate of 50 percent).  Much of the stress for these families and couples is directly related to the cost of a special needs child.

Even families who earn more than the poverty level (of $22,200 for a family of four) struggle to provide the durable medical equipment their special needs child needs.

You can help.  Become a sponsor of this site.  Or donate durable medical equipment that your child has used.  Or even purchase durable medical equipment to donate.  Start a scholarship.  Start a foundation.  It just takes so little to make such a difference.
