You purchased equipment for your child.  As expected, your child got much use out of it.  However, he has outgrown it.  Now what do you do?  Unless we're mistaken, we have yet to find a "durable medical equipment cemetery" where all used and outgrown equipment may rest.  That is why we would like you to exchange your equipment here.  There are so many other children who could benefit from your equipment.  And by exchanging, you are also able to find what your child currently needs.

As kidsDMExchange.org is designed to benefit families and children who seek out used durable medical equipment, sensory items and communication devices, all products are listed for free and should be exchanged for free.  However, we realize that many items are more valuable and you may wish to "sell" them via our site.  We have yet to offer this for one reason:  if an item was not purchased by the lister but rather received through organizations such as Children's Miracle Network or through churches, fundraisers, etc., we do not feel it should be sold for a profit.  And as there is no way to determine which items were received through organizations, governmental funding and other avenues, there is no way to monitor this.

If you have purchased your equipment outright or with the help of insurance, you should be able to sell it to recoop some of the expenses and to apply them to your next DME purchase.  At this point, we recommend utilizing online auction websites such as Ebay.  However, we welcome any suggestions, thoughts or comments you have regarding kidsDMExchange.org.  We will thoroughly review your suggestions and strive to meet your needs and the needs of your child.
